About

Andrew O’Connor is a creative producer, technologist, and media artist based in Hamilton, ON Canada. Working at the intersection of visual storytelling, systems design, and immersive media, Andrew's practice is driven by the belief that content should create an experience - moments that resonate long after the screen fades to black.

From directing narrative-driven video productions and crafting expressive audiovisual performances to engineering technical infrastructure for live events, Andrew approaches each project as a living ecosystem. He seamlessly connects message to medium, and concept to control surface, thriving in spaces that require creative intention, technical fluency, and calm under pressure.

His artistic practice draws inspiration from the patterns and emergent behaviors found in nature, exploring themes of memory, ecology, and transformation. Known for his experimental blend of digital and analog processes - including coded generative systems, circuit-bent video technology, motion graphics, found footage, and real-time audiovisual improvisation - Andrew is fascinated by disassembling media and reassembling it to reveal its materiality, either performed live or meticulously produced. His artistic works have been exhibited and performed across North America and Europe.

Andrew is also co-founder of HAVN (Hamilton Audio Visual Node), a collective art space for interdisciplinary performance, and OPTICKS, an experimental light art community exploring participatory media and collective creativity in public spaces.
